A Dying Trade
04:06
|
|||
what a tired pitiful thing
all the noise made overselling
a debased and devalued trade
under whelmed and oversate
how far will we bend to make ends meet?
abundant disposable things
in a world that is ever-drying
there’s no fleeting intangible thing
that will make this dry riverbed flow
but when every well has been drained
and each mouth is raw and parched
where will we draw vitality from?
how far must we bend to make ends meet
beaten down and bowed to the breaking point
there is no defeat
I will find a way to make ends meet

Too Little, Too Much
03:43
|

oh how it rains down, heavy as lead
over lands bloated and drowned
and that very sky seals up, not spilling a drip
over lands cankered and bone dry
though it is not fate, nor a curse, or a streak of bad luck
it is just the world with us too little and too much
wars hell fires may burn, burn, burn through valleys of lambs
while savage hearted men reside
in these safe and dull, policed utopian dreams
while some may claim it’s a god that favors our clever cruel touch
it’s just the world with us too little and too much

You Remain
03:44
|
|||
when you were new to me
our love was a blind and electric thing
it would make my hair stand on it’s end
and leave me buzzing for days
and though the fiery rush of each loving touch
has surely changed
there’s no surface heat that can warm
like the pyre of enduring love
and with the way you fan and feed the flame
nothing burns like you
you remain new to me
when you were new to me
you were a rare and mystical thing
and though you’ve revealed your most humanly traits
your magic remains
there is no celestial power
that can move me like your fleshly frame
you remain new to me

Backwards Birth
02:58
|
|||
with bodies stiff with scabs our hold on life is so tenuous
for each impact leaves nothing intact
and it’ll all spill out molten and red
such a fragile and finicky thing that holds us
we are born short of sight, dependent and in debt
and that's how we'll surely return
crawling to a backwards birth
